As one of the fastest growing names in Irish Millinery, Fiona Mangan is making heads turn with her inspirational headpieces. Since setting up her Millinery label in 2010, she has been shortlisted for three prestigious fashion Awards: The 2011 Fashion Innovadtion Awards, The 2011 Kerry Fashion Awards and the 2011 ‘I Do’ Wedding Service Awards. She has also created three unique collections and has supplied headwear to a number of retailers as well as online stores.

Fiona has a degree in Architecture from DIT Bolton Street Dublin and practised as an architect for 10 years. With the downturn in the construction industry, she switched her design focus to her lifelong passion, Fashion.

With a wide range of experience including: dress design, millinery courses and private millinery tuition combined with a background in Architecture, she creates headgear that is truly unique and iconic.

INSPIRATION

Fiona creates beautiful bespoke hats and headpieces for every occasion  with a style that is edgy, quirky and contemporary. 

Her appreciation of form, proportion, composition and structure comes from her career as an architect. Her work is also influenced by vintage and retro styles as well as clean cut sculpture and classic forms. Modern influences and style ensure that each piece becomes a truly original and one-off creation. 

Unique textures and textiles are incorporated into the hat designs. The use of traditional millinery techniques along with both traditional and unconventional materials help to create contemporary and visually captivating headwear.
